Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah region, is being briefed on the first phase of Makkah Oasis project which he inaugurated Tuesday. With an area of 670,000 sq. meters, the project aims to provide housing to those whose properties were acquired for development projects. It also aims to offer reasonably-priced houses to middle- and low-income citizens. About 500 out of 4,000 housing units have already been constructed in the first phase and it is expected that 2,000 units will be constructed in the second phase. The third phase will see construction of the remaining 1,500 units, said the executive director of Makeen Company, the developer of the project. Makkah Mayor Dr. Osama Al-Bar said the project has been designed keeping in view the unique urban architecture of Makkah. — SPA
