JEDDAH — The Human Resources Development Fund has warned beneficiaries of the Hafiz unemployment assistance program against using illegal applications to update their personal data at the fund. Sultan Al-Saree, spokesman for the fund, said using illegal ways to update data may leave their accounts susceptible to hacking attempts. “The fund aims to keep all personal information provided by its beneficiaries intact and not accessible to anyone else. “Getting access to such key information could lead to it being abused by unscrupulous hackers for financial gain.” Al-Saree also underlined the significance of updating Hafiz information every week. “The weekly updating of information is the best way to maintain direct contact between Hafiz and its beneficiaries who can have all the information and guidelines about the program, in addition to related services such as details of training programs and help in seeking suitable jobs in the private sector.” Meanwhile, a Saudi who privately developed a program on the Android platform called “Hafiz Update” said the application helps Hafiz beneficiaries update their personal information every week to avoid any deduction from their unemployment allowance. The citizen, who requested anonymity, said that he made the service available to other beneficiaries free of cost through Google Play. “Now the number of beneficiaries using this program has reached more than 100,000. “I have received several emails and tweets thanking me for developing the program.” The Saudi man said updating Hafiz information through his program would never lead to disclosure of personal information or bank account details to anyone else.
