ABU DHABI — Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has said he will not pick Andre Ayew in his squad for the Jan. 19-Feb. 10 African Cup of Nations after the Marseille winger failed to report to a training camp to have an injury assessed. Appiah said in a statement Monday that he had decided to “exclude” Ayew, one of Ghana's best players, because of uncertainty over his fitness after he picked up a hamstring injury with his French club. Ayew was asked to report to Ghana's pre-tournament camp in the UAE Saturday but still had not arrived by Monday morning, despite being released by Marseille. — Reuters
