JEDDAH — “Relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are people-centric, and the Saudi leadership considers these relations beyond limits,” Pakistan's acting Consul General Imran Ahmad Siddiqui has said. He made the remarks during a reception Thursday night aboard Pakistan Navy ship PNS Alamgir, which is docking at Jeddah Islamic Port. The ship is currently on a goodwill visit to the Kingdom. Rear Adm. Saeed Al-Zahrani of Saudi Navy, consuls general of different countries, diplomats, media persons and a large number of community members attended the reception. Welcoming the officers and JCOs of Pakistan Navy to Saudi Arabia, Siddiqui said relations between two brotherly countries are excellent at all levels. He said, “Our brotherhood has transcended the vicissitude of time. The relations are not based on political expediency; rather it is etched deep in the heart of every Pakistani and Saudi national. We care about each other more in practice than in words.” Pak-Saudi relations are of strategic nature and such goodwill visits of naval ships from friendly countries further strengthen their bonds, he said. Siddiqui also highlighted the strategic importance of relations between Pakistan and the Royal Saudi Navy, and emphasized that such visits are source of strength between the armed forces of both countries. The commander of PNS Alamgir, Capt. Abdul Muneeb, welcomed the guests on board. He briefly highlighted the combat management system on the ship, which includes torpedoes and missiles. He also touched on the ship's oceanographic technologies.— SG
