YANBU — Traffic police on the Yanbu-Madinah expressway arrested 38 Asian women and children as well as a man in his 40s who was trying to smuggle them in a bus to Madinah province. The alleged human trafficker used to smuggling housemaids from Makkah to other parts of the Kingdom. Police spokesman for the Madinah region Col. Fahd Al-Ghannam confirmed the arrests. The man was driving the bus carrying 34 housemaids and four children. All of them were not carrying identification papers. Following the arrests, the driver was handed over to Yanbu police for investigation and the illegal residents to the Passport Department for deportation.
