JEDDAH — The land monitoring committee of Jeddah municipality has recovered more than 18 million square meters of land from a Saudi who allegedly seized the land. The man, who did not possess any legal document to prove ownership, had planted trees on the land, divided it into smaller plots, paved a street and surrounded the area with a dirt wall. He meant to con buyers into believing that he was the owner of the land scheme, and was planning to sell individual plots for residential purposes. Prince Mishaal Bin Majed, Jeddah Governor, instructed the municipality to recover the land and raze it. The municipality has warned all those who seize public land of severe penalties. It also cautioned citizens against falling victims to such land schemes.
