JEDDAH: The security authorities in Makkah are investigating a complaint from a Saudi national in his twenties that he was sold a piece of land in Bahra for SR130,000, which had already been sold to another buyer. The conman took the money and disappeared. When he went to the plot of land to transfer ownership, according to the agreement with the seller, he found another Saudi man carrying out construction work on the same plot. The plaintiff said he asked the man why he was there, and was told that he had bought the land from the owner. It turned out to be the same man who had conned the plaintiff. Col. Misfir Al-Je'aid, Spokesman of Jeddah Police, told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that a report has been received from the Saudi national and an investigation started. However, the case dossier has been transferred to Makkah Police, because it has administrative authority to follow up on cases in Bahra. Al-Je'aid said preliminary indications are that the Saudi national who laid the complaint has been a victim of fraud. He said the security authorities will arrest the conman soon and bring him to justice.
