Celebrated Chinese artists to hold Dubai exhibit

DUBAI — Three highly acclaimed Chinese artists are set to showcase their works in Dubai from Jan. 17-Feb. 16. The exhibition, titled “Life,” will be mounted at Corp Executive Hotel Apartments – Al Barsha.
The three artists — LiFu, Tian Jun, GengJian — will be accompanied by a special delegation from ShaanXi Province China International Culture Exchange Center of Foreign Economics, led by its Secretary-General Zhu Zheng and Deputy Secretary General Li Xiu Wu.
LiFu hails from Hongdong County in ShaanXi Province and is a highly accomplished and versatile artist in the famous Chinese bird-and-flower painting genre. Gentle and honest in his approach, LiFu treats each subject in an open-minded and friendly manner. For him, “painting is an aspiration of the heart.” He uses the brush to tell the story of the times. “My objective is always to create something new,” he said.
Internationally acclaimed artist Tian Jun, whose printed character is Renzhi and Yanghezhaizhu, belongs to Xi'an in Shanxi province. He is the subdecanal of Chinese calligraphy and painting, the Librarian of Xi'an Research Institute of culture and history, and a member of the Chinese Artists Association.
A full-time painter, GengJian is a member of ShaanXi Province Artists Association. His brilliance is not a secret. Over the years he has been feted as a master of his craft, applauded and honored throughout the nation. His works are truly fascinating as is his persona. GengJian began painting from an early age and ever since, it has been the only thing he truly wanted to do.
“We are confident this exceptional event will serve as a big milestone in collaboration of art and culture between local and Chinese artists, and will give a unique opportunity to UAE residents to discover Chinese art. We are extremely grateful to ShaanXi Province China International Culture Exchange Center of Foreign Economics for expressing its interest in this project and traveling all the way to Dubai with these celebrated artists,” said Michel Noblet, President, HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings.
“Chinese art is getting increasingly popular and gaining in prominence worldwide and we want our artists to reach new frontiers. Dubai is a growing focal point for art in the region. LiFu, Tian Jun, GengJian are all highly accomplished artists and we feel proud to showcase their works in Dubai. We hope this exhibition will serve as the starting point of a new era of cultural exchange between the two countries,” said Zhu Zheng, ShaanXi Province China International Culture Exchange Center of Foreign Economic.
China has recently become the hottest stop on the international art circuit with art collectors calling it a new dawn for Chinese art.
LiFu said, “Our works mirror contemporary Chinese artistic expression. The beauty of Chinese art is it allows the viewer to imagine and experience the artist's feeling in a unique way, guided by simple lines and economic use of color. We are very excited to bring our works to Dubai.”
