UNDER the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah Bahamdan, the sixth solo exhibition for the acclaimed Saudi artist Hanan Bahamdan called “Wojooh Manseyyah” will be held on May 24 at Al-Hewar gallery in Kingdom Tower, Riyadh. At the exhibition, Bahamdan will be displaying around 36 pieces of her art work that draw on her previous experience of painting portraits and naturalistic scenes. Widely regarded as one of the most talented Saudi artists, Bahamdan's work has attracted artists, art critics and the public's attention ever since her first solo art exhibition held in Riyadh in 1992. Her most famous creation “Manci” (The Forgotten) was the first work by a Saudi artist to be auctioned by art house Sotheby's in London in 2007. Bahamdan currently lives in London where she moved to specialize in portraits.
