Toyota ALJ announced the winner of the top prize for the Best Modified FJ Cruiser at the grand final of its competition at the Saudi International Motor Show in Jeddah Thursday.
The grand prize winner was decided by online voting and, in addition, two lucky winners each received a brand new FJ Cruiser 2013 decided by a raffle draw among those who voted on Facebook and Twitter for their favorite modified FJ to go through to next round of the qualifying stages of the competition.
“This is one of the biggest and most exciting competitions we have ever launched and it has generated a terrific response from FJ owners who have uploaded some very creative modifications, especially by young drivers who want to express themselves by personalizing their FJ,” said Eng. Marwan Al Sulaimani, Managing Direct Sport Utility Vehicles. “We used Facebook and Twitter to promote this competition as part of our use of social media networks to stay close and to communicate with the huge number of Toyota lovers throughout the Kingdom,” he added.
The competition went through several stages leading up to the grand final. In the first stage, entrants registered and uploaded photographs of their modified FJs. In the second stage members of the public registered online to vote for their favorite modified vehicle and were automatically entered in a raffle draw for a FJ Land Cruiser 2013 of their very own.
The 32 modified FJs receiving the highest number of votes went through to the second round of voting to decide the best 16 vehicles and at this stage there was second prize draw among voters for a brand new FJ. The competition then entered the final stage of online voting to decide the winner of the grand prize for the Best Modified FJ Cruiser.
Al Sulaimani further said: “The grand finale of the Best Modified FJ Cruiser competition was one of the highlights of our activities at the Saudi International Motor Show and included a comedy act by Bader Saleh, presenter of Eysh Elly YouTube show which is rated number one in the Kingdom. We had other attractions as well and it was a great pleasure to welcome so many car enthusiasts and their families to our stand – which was the biggest at the motor show – where they saw the full line up of Toyota models and enjoyed a really entertaining time.” — SG
