Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, accompanied by Jeddah Governor Prince Mishal Bin Majed, visits the fourth Umdah office of the 92 that has implemented the Shumoos initiative to expand the role of the district mayors. — SPA Ahmad Abdullah Okaz/Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal visited the new office of the Al-Rawdah district chief (Umdah). He was accompanied by Jeddah Governor Prince Mishal Bin Majed and other officials. This is the fourth Umdah office of 92 that has implemented the Shumoos initiative to expand the role of the district mayors, carried out with the cooperation of Jeddah Municipality and Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In a press conference, the prince thanked all those who participated in the project. He said Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah instructed all officials to provide services to the citizens. He added such projects are the result of cooperation between citizens and government and private organizations. The Makkah governorate is activating the role of the Umdah. There are 203 Umdahs in Makkah Province, 92 of which are in Jeddah. A team of 16 members was formed to implement this project. The team's objective was to activate the role of an Umdah to enable him to get acquainted with residents in his neighborhood and contact them. The governorate has organized educational symposiums in the province's main cities as well as workshops to develop the role of the Umdah.
