RIYADH — A high level delegation from the Saudi Customs visited the laboratories of Motabaqah in Riyadh's 2nd industrial area to strengthen the growing partnership between Saudi Customs and Motabaqah's Saudi Specialized Laboratories in the battle against counterfeit goods. The delegation members were Sulaiman Al-Tuwaijri Director General of King Khalid International Airport's Customs, Abdulmhsin Al-Shinaifi, Director of Documentation Department, Abdulkarim Al-Wilae, advisor of the assistant Director General for customs' affairs and Abdullah Al-Aud, Director General of Riyadh dry port's customs. Professor Saleh Al-Sedrani, Executive Vice President of Motabaqah, welcomed the delegation according to the company's press release. The visiting team was escorted by managers from the head office and heads of various sections in the laboratory told them of the efforts made to protect the consumer and markets from products that do not conform with the Saudi and international standards. The customs visited the vehicles' spare parts testing lab, textiles testing lab, building materials lab, calibration & measurements lab, electrical products testing lab and the vehicles testing lab, to preview and show case the mechanism these laboratories pursue in testing samples in accordance with Saudi and international standards, in a manner that makes the tests' results and conformity certificates authentic and dependable. Al-Sedrani expressed his pleasure at the Saudi Customs officials visit to Motabaqah's laboratories, and added that the visit will boost the means of activating specialized laboratories and converge them with the customs matrix through the one stop e-system. He added that the visitors were appraised of the launch of the unique Vehicles Spare Parts testing lab, which examines brake pads, filters, engine belts, rims and radiators in Riyadh. The visitors were also told of Motabaqah's as well has a Chemical and Bacterial testing lab in Jeddah specialized in testing cosmetics, detergents and clearing materials and a lab for testing petroleum with further laboratories serving other sectors with new branches in Jeddah and Dammam. — SG
