Hadi Fornaji TRIPOLI – Members of the security forces clashed with armed men in the central Dahra area of Bani Walid Saturday, leaving three members of the armed force dead and a number of other security personnel injured. The fighting is said to have begun early this morning when security forces tried to enter Dahra in pursuit of an armed group of masked men. Unknown assailants opened fire on them. Clashes continued throughout the day. There were conflicting reports as to whether the government forces who were attacked were from the army or the Ministry of Interior. The identity of the armed group is also unclear at the moment. Troops from the army have banned entry to Bani Walid until they have finished their operations in Dahra, as the armed group was reported to have full control of the area on Saturday night. Bani Walid was declared liberated on 24 October, and between January and October the town was in the hands of counter revolutionaries and Qaddafi symapthisers. – Libya Herald
