Mohammed Jameel, President of the ALJ Group, receives the “Best Initiative to Support Entrepreneurship in the Arab World” award from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. Bab Rizq Jameel (BRJ), a corporate social responsibility initiative of ALJ Group, was given the award at the Global Entrepreneurship (GES) Summit in Dubai on Wednesday in recognition of its achievement in job creation across the Middle East region. Described as a business with a social purpose, Bab Rizq Jameel, or The Beautiful Gateway to Prosperity, was established in 2003 by Mohammed Jameel to help generate employment opportunities in Saudi Arabia. BRJ's main activities focus on identifying job opportunities, providing relevant skills and training to individual job seekers and granting microfinance loans to establish new entrepreneurial ventures. Since its establishment, BRJ has expanded across the region through an extensive branch network, successfully helping to create over 320,000 jobs, 100,000 of them this year alone. — Courtesy photo
