JEDDAH: In line with ALJ Community Initiatives, a new Bab Rizq Jameel branch was recently inaugurated in Istanbul, Turkey. Engineer Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, chief job creator at BRJ, inaugurated the new branch in presence of the Istanbul deputy mayor, head of Security Department in Istanbul and other senior officials and businessmen. The new BRJ branch is in line with its policy to launch social responsibility initiatives in countries in which ALJ is operating. Last year, ALJ has acquired Toyota Turkey, and today it is opening the first BRJ branch there. After cutting the opening ribbon, Engineer Jameel toured the new branch, after which Dr. Fatih Mehmet Gul introduced a presentation about BRJ activities, announcing that BRJ is planning to create 5,000 job opportunities during 2011. Dr. Gul said both public and private sectors are cooperating with BRJ. Experimental operation of the branch was started last month in the area of training ending with employment and direct employment. Meanwhile, BRJ is in the middle of a negotiation and coordination process with a local bank to finance the microfinance program. Engineer Jameel extended his appreciation to the government authorities in Turkey for supporting the initiative. Recently, ALJ Community Initiatives celebrated the closure of the 1001 Inventions exhibition in Istanbul, which was visited by more than 400,000 visitors within its 2-month display period.
