Jeddah's ever-busy Palestine Road was converted into freeway recently, but the motorists' joy seems to be short-lived as the municipality partially closed the road again. They will now have to wait at least 30 months for the completion of a new flyover, which is expected to put an end to the traffic congestion in this part of the city that reaches breaking points during rush hours. The Jeddah Mayoralty has signed a contract worth SR179 million with a Chinese company to construct the kilometer-long bridge across the intersections with Prince Mit'eb and Dallah streets.
