DUBAI — Princess Ameerah Al-Taweel, Vice Chair and Secretary-General of Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundations, has been presented the Women in Leadership (WIL) Honorary Achievement Award. The princess was given the award in recognition of the foundations' continuous efforts in philanthropic activities dedicated to supporting humanitarian projects in fields like global cultural understanding, community development and women's empowerment. Princess Ameerah was the guest of honor at the 4th WIL Achievement Awards of the Middle East and Africa held under the endorsement of Dr. Maitha' Salem Al Shamsi, UAE's Minister of State. The princess distributed the awards to the winners who are leaders in their respective fields at a ceremony held in Dubai on Nov. 21. Exceptional individuals and organizations in different fields were honored at the event. Donna Sultan, CEO of KEO International Consultants in Qatar, received the Leading Businesswoman of the Year prize; Dr. Anna Zickerman-Quinn, founder and medical director of Up and Running Integrated Sports Medical Center, received the Most Innovative Entrepreneur of the Year prize; Pfizer was the Most Women-Friendly Employer; Moritz P Hartmann, general manager, Roche Diagnostics Middle East, was the Male Champion of Change; and Suhair Al Ali, former senator and Minister of Planning of Jordan, was recognized as the Leading Woman in Public Sector. Princess Ameerah delivered a short speech during the awards ceremony and thanked Sophie Le Ray, CEO of Naseba, which organized the WIL Forum. — SG
