BURAIDAH – The relatives of a Saudi diplomat who was shot dead in Yemen on Wednesday said they want to see the perpetrators of the crime brought to justice. The body of Khaled Al-Enizi, a military officer at the Saudi Embassy in Sana'a, arrived at Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz Airport in Qassim on Thursday. He was buried in Buraidah later Thursday. Al-Enizi's father and brothers said they are certain that the perpetrators will be punished for their crime. They also said that as much as their hearts are filled with grief over the death, they are happy that he died serving his country, which is a great honor. “My brother called us last Tuesday and said he was coming soon to visit and see his son and daughter whom he missed a lot. My brother was a very polite person, loved by all those who knew him,” said Al-Enizi's brother, Naif. Al-Enizi last visited Buraidah two months ago. He is survived by a wife, five-year-old daughter and five-month-old son. Meanwhile, France has condemned the criminal act that resulted in Al-Enizi's death. In a statement, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “Paris strongly condemns what happened and offers its heart-felt condolences to the Saudi government.” France reiterates its continuous support to bring stability and security to Yemen, the statement added. Qatar also condemned the terrorist act and reiterated its position against all forms of terrorism and violence. Abdul Latif Al-Zayani, GCC Secretary-General, denounced the terrorist act and said he was sure that Yemeni security authorities would arrest the perpetrators. The ambassadors of 10 countries which sponsored the Gulf initiative condemned the act and issued a statement in which they offered their condolences to Al-Enizi's family. They called upon the Yemeni government to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice. Yemen's Defense Minister, Maj. Gen. Muhammad Ahmad, said this terrorist act will not have any impact on the brotherly relations between the two countries. “On the contrary, both countries will intensify efforts to eradicate terrorism and hunt down criminals wherever they are,” he said.
