Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) with its project implemented by Nahil Computer Company achieved first place in the category “Connecting Project Teams,” in the “Be Inspired Awards” competition. Bentley's annual Be Inspired Awards program is the only competition of its kind that is global in scope and comprehensive in the categories covered, encompassing all types of infrastructure projects. The goal of the Be Inspired Awards program is twofold. First, to advance innovation and best practices in design, engineering, construction, operations and project delivery. Second, to promote the extraordinary work of the organizations that help sustain the world's infrastructure. The organizations who were competing in the Connecting Project Teams category had to demonstrate success in connecting widely distributed project teams for dynamic collaboration and work sharing to improve project performance. Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) was established in the year 2000 with the merger of dozens of electricity producers throughout Saudi Arabia. At a cost of $2 million over 12 years, SEC's IT and Communications Department led eight subprojects which consolidated and standardized SEC's information infrastructure in an enterprise-level engineering document management system (EDMS) based on Bentley ProjectWise. Nahil provided the software, implementation, training, support and backlog conversion and migration of all technical documentation into the EDMS.
