The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has received an award as the best electricity company in the Arab World. The award was given at the Second Conference of Investors in the Arab World held recently in Abu Dhabi. Expressing his happiness over the honor, Abdul Salam Al-Yamani, Vice Chairman of Public Relations at the SEC, said the company recently received another award from the Minister of Labor for Saudizing jobs and creating job opportunities for citizens. “The SEC was awarded the Prince Naif Award for Saudization for the seventh time as well as the King Abdul Aziz Award for Quality. These awards are in recognition of its distinguished performance in Saudizing its jobs,” he said. The company has also received two international awards for outstanding performance in the program of financing the Rabegh project for independent power production and a Riyadh station for electricity production. The different local, regional and international awards the SEC has received are evidence of the painstaking efforts of the company to create an evolving work environment, Al-Yamani said. The SEC will spend approximately SR153 billion until 2015 on various segments of the electricity infrastructure in the Kingdom. In June this year, the government approved an additional SR51 billion to finance the future capital projects as the company embarks on a large capital spending program through to 2015.
