JEDDAH – The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) hosted a recreation festival for orphans and children with special needs as part of its social responsibility programs. More than 5,000 orphans and children with special needs and their families, as well as those specialized in humanitarian and social activities and representatives of charitable societies participated in the event. The festival, dubbed “Charity of Al-Jazira for the People of Al-Jazira,” was organized by Bank Al-Jazira. Hanadi Al-Balwi, director of the festival, said the JCCI is playing a major role in making the festival, which coincides with the Gulf Disability Day, a great success. “This is part of the chamber's efforts to support the orphans and disabled children with the cooperation of charitable organizations,” she said. Al-Balawi praised the role of Bank Al-Jazira, represented by its social responsibility wing, in launching the program. She said a variety of recreational and cultural programs as well as art and song performances featured in the festival. The Disabled Children's Association, Al-Wodad Society, First Charity Society, Al-Birr Charity and Dar Al-Fatyan sent children to the event. On his part, Fahd Al-Olayyan, executive director for community service programs at Bank Al-Jazira, said the festival was part of the bank's programs and activities in the field of social responsibility. — SG
