More than 80 of the world's leading automotive players, along with General Motors, which made an outstanding presence in the event, through its biggest dealer in the Middle East - Aljomaih Automotive Company - are taking part in the Riyadh Motor Show 2012, the 29th international exhibition for motor vehicles, which opened recently at Riyadh Exhibition Center. The show featured over 40 automobile brands and four banking institutions which showcased their latest automobile products and financing solutions. Among the leading brands, the revered General Motors, through Aljomaih Automotive Company, showed off its all-new models lineup from Chevrolet Trailblazer 2013, Chevrolet ZL1 Camaro, MY13 Chevrolet Cruze, Chevrolet Malibu MY13, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Terrain Denali, and Chevrolet Captiva. Aljomaih also introduced the special edition customized “Al Jomaih Luxury Van” – a special edition of GMC Savanna. The 2013 Chevrolet Trailblazer got extra special attention at the show as the chassis is modified to have an independent rear suspension. It has a 3.6-liter V6 engine, detuned to make only 236 hp and 329 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic and rated at a relatively-high 12.2 liters/100 km of combined fuel economy. Its additional features include the usual split-folding second-row and cramped third-row seats, CD stereo with USB and Bluetooth, rear a/c vents, 18-inch wheels, stability control, ABS, hill-start assist, parking sensors and six airbags. The 2013 Chevrolet Trailblazer comes in LT and LTZ trim levels. Sheikh Mansour Al Jomaih, Dealership Director of Al Jomaih Automotive company in Riyadh, who visited the event, reaffirmed Al Jomaih Automotive Company's dedication to provide the latest cars and best services. Chevrolet Trailblazer, the brand's tough new “haul-anything, go-anywhere” SUV, was designed to feature premium ride comfort and handling dynamics for urban and highway driving, matched by superior off-road capabilities. Inside, the all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer features leading interior space and intuitive three-row tumble and fold-flat seating, representing Chevrolet's most significant play in the competitive body-on-frame midsize SUV segment. Available in two- and four-wheel-drive configurations, the Trailblazer is powered by GM's new four-cylinder Duramax turbo-diesel engines that offer class-leading power and torque matched with efficiency and refinement. The Chevrolet ZL1 Camaro Chevy is a real jaw dropper. It's the most technologically advanced Camaro ever, with an option to drop the top in about 18 seconds flat. The Camaro ZL1 Convertible, produced by an all-aluminum 6.2L supercharged engine, is packed with 580 horsepower and 556 lb.-ft. of torque. In particular, Chevrolet Silverado1500 Hybrid captured car enthusiasts' interest as it is the only hybrid in the full-size truck segment. Compared with comparable, non-hybrid models, it delivers 33-percent greater city fuel economy and a 23.5-percent improvement in overall fuel economy, all with the capability customers want in full-size truck – including a 6,100-pound (2,767 kg) trailering capacity. Estimated fuel economy for both 2WD and 4WD models is 20 mpg in the city and 23 on the highway. Propulsion of the Silverado 1500 Hybrid comes from General Motors' patented two-mode hybrid system and a powerful 6.0L gas V-8, which combine to deliver all-electric driving up to 30 mph (48 km/h). The system saves fuel using electric propulsion, even when towing a trailer. — SG
