MANILA — Angeline Quinto and Ciara Sotto were among the latest Filipino singers to audition for “Miss Saigon,” according to ABS-CBN News. The hit musical is getting a West End revival in London next year. Auditions in Manila were held from Nov. 19-22. Quinto, last year's winner of the talent search “Star Power,” is reportedly on the “wish list” of “Miss Saigon” representative from the Philippines, Dong Alegre. Sotto, meanwhile, previously starred in the local production of “Rent” and received good reviews for her role in “Sweet Charity” last year. Singer Rachelle Ann Go, K-La Rivera, Philippine Opera Company talent Francesca Farr, and Pinoy talent from Macau Ernest Tomana are among those who got callback slips. They are moving to the next round of auditions along with Karylle and Tippy dos Santos. — SG
