Maher Abass Saudi Gazette CAIRO – Egypt's Coptic Church voiced its utmost concern at Israeli hostilities in the Gaza Strip and the deteriorating situation in the Palestinian occupied territories. In a statement Saturday it said that the Israeli aggression aggravates and compounds the sufferings and ordeal of the Palestinian people. Tens of innocent Palestinian women, children and the elderly are being killed daily by the Israeli ruthless war machine, it said. The Church offered its sincere condolences to the families of the Palestinian martyrs, and called for an immediate halt to the violence in the Gaza Strip. The Church also emphasized its support to all official efforts aimed at stopping the systematic air raids. The statement said the Church prays for peace and stability in the region and the occupied Palestinian territories, urging all parties to renounce violence and resort to sound reason.
