Abdulrahman Al-Ali Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — The Board of Grievances in Jeddah delayed issuing a verdict against four officers in Jeddah police for forging an official document. The board held a session in the presence of the accused officers, the prosecutor and two witnesses in the case. The board heard the statements of the defendants and witnesses on the forgery of an official document of a housemaid, who was handed over to the police station by her female sponsor for deportation. But the officers kept her at the police station for several days. The judge asked the officers why they had kept the housemaid in custody and did not hand her over to the deportation center as per regulations. The defendants replied that one of the officers had gone on leave and the other did not receive orders to act on the case. The officers blamed one another before the judge adjourned the session until next week to issue a judgment. The defendants wrote a report that the housemaid was arrested at later date as she is an undocumented resident even though her female sponsor had handed her over to the police station days ago. Dr. Saeed Al-Malki, the judge at the Board of Grievances, confronted the defendants with evidence presented by the Control and Investigations Board (CIB) as well as testimonies by witnesses who were present in the court. However, the first defendant, who is the head of a police station with the rank of colonel, denied all charges leveled against him.
