Citizens are infuriated and are questioning the reasons. Abdulmu'een Alsheikh, Saudi Electricity Company's president for the western sector, said these outages were due to maintenance works. The company performs these works during winter. Electrical loads are transferred from one station to another. Citizens said outages occur many times in a day and last for a few minutes. They complain of the damage this has caused to their electrical equipment, especially air conditioners. Some power cuts that occur during the late hours of night cause sleep disturbances to children who have to attend school in the morning. Citizens agree to the importance of maintenance works.
