Saleh Fareed Saudi Gazette THE 6th edition of EXCS International Motor Show for luxury cars ended recently in chic amid huge response from visitors and proved another smash hit. Abdullah Al Shimasi, event organizer, said the show, held at Hilton Hotel Jeddah, received around 1,3000 visitors during the three days and bookings and sales reached SR65 million. Filled with every type of luxury vehicles imaginable, including the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, an extreme lightweight concept car which previews the future of sport cars and James Bond's favorite car the 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish, EXCS was one of the exciting shows here in the Kingdom. Unprecedented vehicle launched for the first time in the Middle East and super sport cars helped push attendance to approximately over last year's numbers according to show organizer. “I believe it was one of the best editions we had so far,” said Abdullah Al Shimasi, event organizer. He noted that the show received around 1,3000 visitors during the three days and bookings and sales reached SR65 million. ““Enormously strong attendance, great press coverage, a completely revised show layout, combined with an amazing range of world introductions showed a confidence that was an exciting event to anyone visiting the Show this year,” Al Shimasi added. Participants and visitors expressed satisfaction about the show. “I and my friends really enjoyed the show, we had the chance to get a glimpse to probably the world's renowned and best brands,” said Hatim Ba Saleh, a visitor. “Three-day duration is a short time to decide to spend a huge amount of money on an expensive item like car,” said a 40-year-old Mansour Abdulrahman, a banker, at the show. “However, the show is a good opportunity for buyers,” he added. The show, held at Hilton Jeddah at a 5,000 sqm area which accommodated 70 luxury cars, in addition to the participation of international luxury carmakers vying among themselves to benefit from the enormous purchasing potential of Saudi Arabia, was inaugurated by Engr. Mufareh Bin Mohammed Al Zahrani, Director of Transport & Road Affairs of Western Regional. Among others, local distributors of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Cadillac, Centennial, Quoris, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Range Rover and Land Rover showcased their latest cars at the show.
