MUMBAI – India's veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar will be launching her own music label at a suburban luxury hotel on Dec. 18 here. The event will be attended by bigshots of Bollywood and the business world, including Neeta Ambani, Pandit Jasraj and Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Bollywoodhungama.com reported. Mangeshkar said she had been toying with the idea for a very long time, but somehow never got around to doing it. “I was too busy recording and singing to really bother with marketing my music,” said the 83-year-old songstress, who is also a composer and a lyricist. With a career spanning over six decades, Mangeshkar has sung more than a thousand Hindi songs. “I am more or less done with film music and I think film music is done with me. Now is the time to do all the music that I've always wanted to but never had the time to do.” – SG
