JEDDAH — The Ministry of Haj's branch at Jeddah Islamic Port (JIP) has mobilized all its resources to facilitate the departure of the pilgrims who came by sea to perform the pilgrimage. The ministry's officials at the seaport have drawn up an integrated plan in cooperation with Tawafa establishments, the United Agents Office and the Passport Department to facilitate the departure of pilgrims to their countries. Adnan Hariri, director of the ministry's branch, said ongoing development of the infrastructure at JIP has helped the Haj Ministry provide pilgrims with quality services and facilitate their departure procedures quickly. He said the branch has introduced new services to pilgrims who arrive by sea including new facilities at the departure terminal to ensure the comfort of pilgrims and relatives who bid them farewell. It has also built a row of shops provided with all goods that pilgrims might need including souvenirs and gifts in addition to an integrated health center. He said after the plan was implemented, pilgrims stay only for three hours at the departure terminal before starting their return journey.
