INDIANAPOLIS — Olympic champions Charles Austin and Pat McDonald and former world record holders Kim Batten and Arthur Duffey were among six people named Thursday to the US Track and Field Hall of Fame. USA Track and Field announced the selections, which also included former Millrose Games meet directors Fred and Howard Schmertz. All six will be inducted at ceremonies on Dec. 1 at the group's meeting in Florida. Austin, 44, was the 1996 Atlanta Olympic high jump gold medalist while Batten, 43, took silver in the 1996 Olympic 400m hurdles and set a world mark of 52.61 seconds in 1995. — AP
