RIYADH — The Embassy of India, in association with the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), is organizing an “Indian Cultural Week" from Nov. 3 to 7 at King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh. A strong multi-colored cultural delegation comprising performers from various regions would be showcasing their traditional art of rhythms and melodies during the five-day celebrations, said an embassy statement. Another highlight of the week will be an exhibition of water color paintings and photos by Indian artists Kashinath Das, Benoy K. Behl and Abhinav Atris under the theme, “Historical Monuments of India." A panel discussion on “Cultural and Trading Linkages between India and Saudi Arabia — from a Historical Perspective" will also be organized. A Mehfil-e-Mushaira (poetry recitation session) has been planned by the Indian community in the Kingdom with the participation of renowned Urdu poets from various parts of India. To add taste to the event, two chefs have arrived from India to be part of Indian Food Festival during the period which is being organized at Crown Plaza Hotel, Riyadh.— SG
