SYDNEY — Alessandro Del Piero celebrated his 800th career match with a 58th-minute penalty before Brett Emerton added the winner 12 minutes later as Sydney FC beat the Perth Glory 2-1 in Australia's A-League Sunday. Travis Dodd had given the Glory a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute before 22,128 fans at the former Olympic stadium in Sydney. The win evened Sydney's record at 2-2 on the season. The other high-profile A-League signing this season, former EPL striker Emile Heskey, scored both Newcastle goals in the Jets' 2-1 win over the Melbourne Victory. It was Heskey's fourth goal in as many matches. — AP
