Newcastle remains unbeatenLIVERPOOL — Liverpool was held for a second successive Premier League match as Norwich secured a 1-1 draw at Anfield Saturday. Striker Craig Bellamy marked his first start since returning to Liverpool in August with a goal in first-half stoppage time. But Grant Holt leveled on the hour — just three minutes after coming off the bench — after meeting Anthony Pilkington's cross with a powerful header. “I thought we rode our luck a little bit in the first half,” Holt said. “The manager's put a belief in us that we just keep going. The lads have done fantastic and we've worked hard.” The point lifted promoted Norwich to seventh, just three points behind fifth-place Liverpool. Had it not been for the woodwork Liverpool would have enjoyed a much more comfortable evening as twice within the opening 12 minutes the team came within inches of scoring. Newcastle United maintained its unbeaten start to the season, sending Wigan Athletic to the bottom of the Premier League with a 1-0 victory at St. James' Park thanks to a late winner from French international Yohan Cabaye. Newcastle is fourth on 19 points, level with third-placed Chelsea, after the 25-year-old France midfielder curled home a shot in the 81st minute, his first goal for the club since his move from Lille. Liverpool is seven behind leader Manchester City which plays at second-placed Manchester United Sunday. In the days other games, West Bromwich Albion won 2-1 at Aston Villa, Sunderland won 2-0 at Bolton Wanderers and Wolverhampton Wanderers drew 2-2 with Swansea City. Catania holds Fiorentina In Rome, Maxi Lopez scored a late equalizer as Catania drew 2-2 at Fiorentina Sunday to pile pressure on Fiorentina manager Sinisa Mihajlovic. In the 82nd minute, Lopez hit home a rebound of a shot from Pablo Barrientos that had appeared to enter the goal. Earlier, Stevan Jovetic had twice given Fiorentina the lead. First, Jovetic scored with a shot from the edge of the area in the 20th, then the Montenegro international put the host back in front in the 62nd with a spectacular, curving shot from beyond the area after Gennaro Delvecchio had equalized for Catania in the 43rd with a close-range effort. Fiorentina has now gone winless in its last four matches, and fans held aloft banners calling for Mihajlovic's ouster. Visibly frustrated, Mihajlovic was expelled for protests in the 87th.
