MUMBAI – He is a late-night tweeter. He loves to interact with his fans and every night gives them a glimpse of his day's activities. On Saturday night, after coming home from the highly acclaimed People's Choice Awards ceremony, the ecstatic Amitabh Bachchan tweeted: “How did it happen? It's the People's Choice Award by Colors channel for the Best TV Host for KBC... Thank you all that voted for me!” He also thanked the people of India for voting for him. In his subsequent tweets, the septuagenarian actor made an effort to acknowledge the “tweeps” who congratulated him on winning the award. One of Bachchan's fans, Sambhar Express, tweeted: “Wow. This wait has been worth it. You deserve every bit of it.” KBC, or “Kaun Banega Crorepati,” is an adaptation of a British game show “Who wants to Be a Millionaire?” The Indian version of the show was first aired in 2000 and was hosted by Bachchan, his first appearance on the small screen. Since then, six seasons of KBC have been aired so far, out of which Bachchan has hosted five and bagged an award for the best TV host each time. – SG
