Middle East Quality Management Professionals (MEQMP) held recently in Jeddah the “Six Sigma awareness” seminars in cooperation with SAQC and Contact Pakistan at the Saudi German Hospital. The seminars were aimed to create awareness among professionals and highlight the importance of Six Sigma. About 150 professionals from all major companies in the Kingdom participated in the “one-of-a-kind event.” Ayed Alamri, chairman of SAQC, appreciated MEQMP for the achievements done in a very short period of time. Muhammad Asim Baig, president of MEQMP, who started the presentation in Dammam, explained the basics of Six Sigma as well as its mission, vision and benefits to members. He said “quality is free” if the methodology is applied properly and efficiently, adding that Six Sigma is one of the tools to do it. K.K Singh, director at the Asian Institute of Quality Management, was the lead speaker at the seminar titled “Six Sigma - The Secret of Success Behind Fortune 500 Companies.” Singh gave a clear idea about the philosophy behind this important method. MEQMP will continue to hold seminars and trainings in the future as part of its mission and vision, Baig said.
