MUMBAI – Kareena Kapoor wore a decades old gharara, orginally belonging to her mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore, when she exchanged wedding vows with Saif Ali Khan on Tuesday in a simple ceremony at Taj Mahal Palace hotel. Tagore had worn the traditional dress in her wedding ceremony to Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi in 1969. Speaking to an Indian newspaper Manish Malhotra said: “I worked on the antique Pataudi gharara that was restored by Ritu Kumar for Kareena's wedding... we did the final fittings and added a bit of touch of embroidery here and there.” After the ceremony, Kapoor changed into a burgundy gharara designed by Malhotra. – SG
