CAIRO — Poor Mina Shalabi was gearing up for whirlwind tour of the Abu Dhabi film festival when the news came through that her latest movie had been booted off the awards list at the last minute, the albawaba.com reported. The young Egyptian actress took a starring role in ‘Baed al Mawqiah' (The Aftermath) but the drama was not included in the roster of potential prize winners. Mina told reporters she was devastated as she had expected the film to win in a number of categories and despite festival organizers agreeing to screen it, cast and crew didn't receive any award nominations. The film, directed by Yusri Nasrallah and starring Basem Samrah alongside Mina, was taken off the list of nominees after festival bosses realized it did not meet their requirements. — Agencies
