The fact that the biggest social network site, Facebook, has reached one billion active users is not significant news and should not be considered to be a milestone of any sort. As a matter of fact, Facebook does not employ any standard of reliability in dispatching news, messages, articles or advertisements. The website is open to all and privacy cannot be maintained. The site is well known for half-naked models displaying their bodies, offensive statements and the circulation of misinformation. If Facebook has no positive and verifiable standards, then the fact that it has reached one billion active users should not be considered a milestone. Facebook must strive to achieve genuine quality standards in order to protect the privacy of users in a secure way. If this is achieved, its credibility will be accepted by everyone.
