Thamer Qamqoom Okaz/Saudi Gazette ARAR — Six Saudis are awaiting execution in Iraq after being convicted of terrorism-related charges, informed sources revealed on Monday. Seven Iraqis were executed on Monday for similar convictions. The six Saudis on death row are: Azzam Al-Qahtani, Badr Oufaan Al-Shammari, Shadi Muslim Al-Saedi, Faisal Abdullah Al-Farag, Abdullah Hasan Al-Shehri, and Abdullah Mahmoud Saidat, according tot he sources. The sources added that the Iraqi prison authorities are expected to carry out a number of executions in the coming days. They are part of more than 700 convictions of various nationalities. A number of convicted prisoners who are sentenced to death have appealed the verdicts saying the rulings against them were not based on evidence and their confessions had been extracted under duress. Families of Saudi prisoners in Iraq are calling for the authorities to save their sons from execution, and to bring them back home.
