Syeda Amtul Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – Saudi Aramco launched a contest dubbed “Hikayat Faqat Bil Alwan” (Stories only with colors) for the Kingdom's children. Aimed aT saving the earth's precious resources, the contest seeks to spread awareness about conserving energy and providing a platform for children to showcase their creativity. The weeklong contest is being held at Mall of Arabia in two shifts: 9AM – 11AM in the morning for school children and 5PM – 9PM in the evening for the general public. The opening ceremony was attended by Nabil Ben Ahmed Baeshen, Director of Saudi Aramco Affairs in the western region, Samir Nasr Al-Din, deputy, and Abdullah Altazi, Director of Society of Arts and Culture in Jeddah. More than 500 children with their families were present to take part in the contest. Baeshen said this contest is part of Saudi Aramco's social responsibility. This year as the company celebrates its 30th anniversary, designing an activity in which both children and parents alike could together take part in it was the one of their organization's main aims. Education workshops are also being held to guide the participants and educate them about the importance of saving energy. Baeshen acknowledged Altazi for co-operating with Saudi Aramco in this competition by providing them with established artists who will evaluate the children's performance. The last date for receiving the drawings is October 17. The results will be announced on November 2 in Dahran and in Jeddah next week.
