JEDDAH: Saudi Aramco's mobile library is visiting 50 schools in the city over the semester as part of its drive to promote reading among elementary school children. The boys and girls schools to be visited have been chosen by the Ministry of Education. Nabil Baeshen, Manager of Saudi Aramco Affairs in the Western Region said, “The library is a chance for students to gain knowledge. It also encourages the love of reading among students between the ages of nine and 12.” He said students will be able to keep the two books they borrow for one week. They will also be allowed to exchange books with each other. The mobile library has a wide range of books in various subjects, in Arabic, in science, history, computers and geography. Baeshen said the library visited 500 schools over the past few years reaching an estimated 5,000 students.
