JEDDAH — The District Court in Jeddah is due next week to look into a case of a woman accused of having an affair with a young man who died after apparently jumping from her apartment window. In the charge sheet submitted by the public prosecutor to the court, the 45-year-old woman was accused of khulwa (to be alone with an outsider in a secluded place). He said the woman would sneak her 18-old-year lover into the house while her husband was not around. The prosecutor's report said one of her sons came home early and found the man in his mother's bedroom. His mother stopped him from entering the room by eventually locking the door, the report said. She asked her son to let the man leave the house quietly, but he insisted on handing him over to the police, the report added. He then called his brother to come home, the report said. The prosecutor's report said the two brothers broke into their mother's bedroom but they did not find any trace of the young man. When they started searching the house they found him lying dead as he had apparently jumped out of the apartment window. The prosecutor accused the woman of asking the young man to bring her a prepaid telephone card and sunglasses in return for sex. He also charged the two brothers with causing the man's death. The charges against the man, which included entering a woman's house while her husband was not around and having an illicit relationship with her, have been dropped.
