Sept. 28 deadline for linking IDs to cell phone service

RIYADH – The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has set Sept. 28 as the new deadline for mobile telephone companies to require prepaid customers to enter the identity card numbers registered while obtaining the service for charging their SIM cards or transferring balance.
The CITC had earlier asked service providers to facilitate the updating of data by subscribers to prepaid services. — SG/SPA
