STC tops list of most influential social media brands in region

SAUDI Telecom Co. (STC) continues to consolidate its leadership in the local market and the region in market value, a research report published by Gulf Business revealed.
The report ranked STC as the Gulf's top telecommunications service provider in the social networking scene. The company has proven its excellence through its channels on Facebook and Twitter, the Kingdom's most popular social networking sites.
The report was part of a comprehensive analysis of the top 50 social media brands. The magazine ranked companies in terms of their influence on the social networking scene. STC ranked first in the region's telecommunication industry by employing its social networking pages to meet the demands of its clients and provide them with exceptional services, that distinguished the company in the world of social networking.
The company's success in establishing an interactive platform through which it achieved excellence in the world of social networking was evident by the company's popularity on these sites, with 650,000 fans on its facebook page, 321,000 followers on its Twitter page, and more than 6 million views on the company's YouTube channel.

Moreover, a recent report published by Socialbakers, one of the leading digital companies in the global scene, showed STC's dominance in social networking channels and its creative use of these channels to interact with customers.
According to the report, STC's facebook page ranked 40 globally in terms of the level of interaction with its fans, beating in this regard its closest local competitor by 22 ranks.
STC's twitter page was no less successful, making it to global top 3 in this regard, and overshadowing its closest competitor by 3 ranks in the local market.
In addition, the company ranked 6 globally on YouTube, with an increased viewership by about 71.4 percent during the period from December 2011 until June 2012, compared with numbers from the same period last year, overshadowing in this regard its closest competitor by 8 ranks in the Kingdom's telecommunication industry.
In this regard, STC consolidated its dominance in the local market by employing its social networking channels to interact with customers and study their demands, concerns and ideas, and prioritizing these concerns as it works to improve services and provide hourly support. – SG
