Abdulrahman Al-Ali Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – Passport police raided several suspicious locations in Al-Rawabi district of Jeddah early Friday and apprehended 122 men and women of various nationalities. Among those arrested were women from an Asian country living with men of other nationalities who were not related to them. They were caught in compromising situations, police said. The campaign started at 1.00 A.M. Friday and the officers led by Capt. Naif Bin Shaher stormed several suspicious locations that had been under surveillance for the past several days. The raids took place after police confirmed that illegal activities had been going on at these locations. A second unit spread out in the neighborhood of the houses that were being stormed. During the raid, officers uncovered various violations, including illegitimate relationships and other immoral activities. The authorities were tipped off about the illegal activities by well-meaning residents in the area. Some Asian expatriates who rented apartments were found to be sheltering unrelated women from their own nationality. During the raids, some of the men pulled out the air-conditioners and jumped out the openings, but were caught by officers waiting outside.
