MANILA — Two full-length Filipino films are set to be screened at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) next month. “Thy Womb" from director Brillante Mendoza and “Bwakaw" from director Jun Lana will be among the 62 films that will be screened in the festival's Contemporary World Cinema program, reported ABS/CBN News. Meanwhile, the five-minute “Class Picture," produced by Timothy Harn and Jim Lumbara and featuring elementary students in Balete, along with their teacher, will be part of the Wavelengths program. According to the programers' notes, Filipino artist collective and “photography film" aficionados, Tito & Tito, convert a single 16mm color strip into washed-out 35mm in “Class Picture." — Agencies
