JEDDAH – In line with the directives of Abdul Aziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, and Prince Turki bin Sultan, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information for Information Affairs, Channel 2 of Saudi TV has begun airing comprehensive coverage of the Islamic Solidarity Conference, due to be held in Makkah on Ramadan 26-27. Obeidallah Al-Abdullah, Director General of Channel 2, said the coverage of the event is composed of two parts: Within the framework of the first part, the channel has started broadcasting reports through its daily bulletins to Arab and Muslim countries effective from Ramadan 20. The channel is also telecasting reports about meetings which will precede the convening of the Islamic summit. An English translation will be telecast on Ramadan 26-27, from Makkah and Jeddah governorate in this respect. A daily bulletin in Urdu will also be telecasted for the conference. The second part will be aired after a direct transmission of (Taraweeh) prayers from the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah on Ramadan 26-27. The program will cover deliberations of the Summit and statements of the participants and guests from inside and outside the Kingdom.
