JEDDAH — Jeddah United scored a 42-28 win over Big Boys Stuff to clinch the Fourth Annual Ramadan Basketball Tournament at Fitness Time Nada Branch here last week. Eight teams battled for glory at the finals played over 12 days at Fitness Time Nada Branch. When the smoke cleared only two were left standing. The Shobain brothers, Abdullah, Mohanned and Mohammed (all basketball coaches for Jeddah United), led the Jeddah United team against Abdullah Khiabary's Big Boys Stuff team with Fadi Al-Taweel and Ahmed Ghazady. The first half saw the Jeddah United players set the pace and slowly build the lead up to eight points 26-18. The second half saw Jeddah United add to its lead taking the tally to 42-28 for the final score. Abdullah Shobain's strong rebounding along with brothers Mohanned and Mohammed's defense slammed the door on the Big Boys Stuff team. Fitness Time has run the Ramadan Basketball Tournament for the last four years with the help of Mohammed Helmi, head referee of the Saudi Basketball Federation, providing healthy recreation for the youth during Ramadan. The winning team received free membership to Fitness Time from the Nada Branch Manager, Lufti.
