Samir Group, Jollibee record third straight wins in FBA cagefest

The fourth week of the ongoing first Jollibee-29th FBA Basketball Tournament is getting more and more exciting as the best teams of each division are now showing their spikes to clinch their entry into the semis.
Samir Group team of coach Gary Santos and manager George Feliciano marked its third straight win when it beat an equally strong team of Fitaihi of coach Gerry Reyes and manager Romy Dilla, 95-78. Instrumental for Samir win were Magpoc 22, David 12, Asperga 11 and Manalili 31 who was adjudged best player of the game while Sanchez and Villanueva did well for Fitaihi.
Mohsen Al-Gbaa team of Rommel Jugo and Marlon Patricio posted its first win in a lopsided game against Fikra Printing Press of Jun Lico, 112-75. Al-Gbaa top scorers were Gabatino 31, Gohilde 21, Santisas 18 and Patricio 13.
In another match under Inter-Commercial Open C Ltd. Strong Division, the New Breed-Alshaya team of head coach Chris Contreras first win against Jeddah Kickers of playing coach Gilbert Banal was an exciting match in the first quarter. But Kickers wee left behind in the succeeding quarters and lost to New Breed Alshaya at 86-75. Good scores for New Breed cwere Mendoza 19, Al-Taweel 13, Cuaresma 10 and Naz 8 points while Buan 20, Pagtalunan 13, Banal 12 did well for Jeddah Kickers.
Another breathtaking game was the match between Jollibee and Alsalam International Hospital. Jollibee of coach Arnold Atienza also recorded its third straight win when it beat a strong team of Alsalam of head coach Eric de Castro and manager Abdullah Baasombol. The game was so intense that in the last two minutes Alsalam led by 8 points against Jollibee, but in the remaining time, the fire power of Dollentas, Romano, Lopez and Galzote erased the lead of Alsalam and won at 94-92. Baston, Aquino, Cartagena and Lance delivered good points for Alsalam.
In the other games, American Garden of head coach Gil Cortez and managers, Abdulmohsen Al-Ghamdi and Ali Shihaden, marked its second straight win in the Bona Fide strong division when it beat Jeddah Fox in the third game 103-74. The Disquitado brothers and Puno emerged as top scorers of the winning team. Radisson Blu of Danny Atubang beat Zahid Tractor of Dodie Becinas 73-63. Sarco-Jeddah of Johnson de Guzman recorded another win by defeating Saudi Hi-Tech team of Jojo Ruaya, 82-77.

Managed by the Filipino Basketball Association the games are being played every Thursday and Friday from 5:00 P.M. to 11:30 P.M. __
