Abdul Rahman Al-Ali Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – A fire broke out at a restaurant in north Jeddah after the gas cylinder exploded due to a gas leak. Civil Defense firefighting teams put out the fire Monday morning during the preparation of sahoor meal. Lt. Col. Saeed Bin Sarhan, spokesman for Makkah Civil Defense Directorate, said four people were injured in the accident and were rescued by firefighting teams. Investigators are trying to find out the cause of the gas leak that set the restaurant ablaze, the spokesman added. A similar fire at a restaurant Al-Waziriya district of Jeddah in June claimed 11 lives. Many people were eating inside the restaurant when the gas cylinder exploded. Twenty-four people were injured in that accident.
